MIRAMAR

Enjoy all the beauty,
privacy and tranquility
of country living…
without leaving town.

When the owners of this extraordinary home, then living in California, were looking for waterfront property some ten years ago, they made no fewer than seven trips to various coastal destinations around the country before realizing that nothing compared to the gorgeous stretch of land along the Intracoastal Waterway they’d seen in Beaufort, South Carolina… on their first trip. Making up for lost time, they quickly purchased the 2.3 acres and set about building a house worthy of what they still call their “dream property.”

Today, that house is the heart and soul of Miramar, the splendid deepwater estate nestled on a point of land that extends into the ICW with unobstructed access to the Atlantic Ocean. With its 460-plus feet of prime shoreline and its convenient location within the city limits of the historic town of Beaufort, Miramar is a rare find, indeed.

The lengthy shoreline, extensive grounds with lush landscaping and magnificent live oaks, and the custom-designed three-story residence provide the ultimate in gracious waterfront living. The red brick exterior of the main residence, numerous large brick columns on the porches and the metal roof atop the home are architecturally appealing while encouraging low maintenance. There is a detached two-car garage with a professional car-lift, a lovely garden shed and a screened gazebo with tall brick arches, all matching the main residence in design and construction materials. A deepwater dock extends to the ICW featuring an oversized pier, covered pier head, two boat lifts (one is covered), a forty-foot floating dock and buffer float.

Architect Wayne Dell designed the main residence as a traditional Lowcountry home, with a particular emphasis on bringing the outside in; virtually every room has a view of the water or gardens. There are twelve rooms with approximately 5,682 square feet of living area and over 2,300 square feet of attached porches. The porches, along with an extensive number of French doors and windows, maximize the wonderful water views and expand the living and entertaining areas. The home features a formal living room, formal dining room, family room, library, gourmet eat-in kitchen with professional grade appliances, butler’s pantry with wet bar, utility room, five bedrooms and four and one-half bathrooms. Other amenities include high ceilings (11-foot, 10-foot and vaulted),
